The agency is home to a plethora of really awesome artists, including Andrew Bird, The Magnetic Fields, The Rural Alberta Advantage, Breathe Owl Breath, Typhoon and a whole bunch more!

We are jumping onto the west coast leg of a national tour in support of A Lull, and roster mates Deleted Scenes in January!!! Check out the dates in the shows section!

Alsoooooo - the ultra-talented Max Barsana is working on another animated music video, and this time he's turning us into cartoons! Our childhood dreams are erupting!

Hello friends and foes!

10.15.2011

A few things first: Check out the new B-side for free download, our debut TV performance on New Day Northwest, and some flattering new press quotes!

Fall is here. And it's amazing. I've always been more of a fall/winter person... There's just something about a dark, cloudy, encapsulated northwest day that gets me charged up and ready for new adventures. Homeward bound style adventures. Hmmm... I wonder what domesticated animal each of us would be in such a situation. Just off the top of my head I'm thinking Brantely - Hedgehog, Matt - Iguana, and me - Stickbug. BAM! Think of the antics! Send the scripts to our email account if you feel like getting creative.

Anyways, getting back on track... We've got A LOT of new and exciting things on the horizon!!! We've been working on new material for the television network ABC, who have proven to be some of the raddest industry people we've come across yet (thanks Melyssa)!!! Also, we've just started working on booking a WEST COAST TOUR IN JANUARY!!! The kick off day will be a soon to be announced friday at Neumos!!! We'll keep you updated on other news as it develops...

Lastly, we wanted to extend a HUGE THANKS to everyone who watched our sets at all the summer festivals (Folklife, Block Party, Doe Bay, Mural Amphitheater, Bumbershoot) and all the shows in between. Your support sustains us and we think of you each and every day. Fo' reals.

Great Googlie Mooglie!

8.23.11

The summer of 2011 is rapidly drawing to a close. We've had the pleasure so far to headline the indie roots stage at Folklife, sell out the tractor with The Builders and the Butchers for Noise for the Needy, have a sweaty, packed and rowdy show at the Captiol Hill Block Party, and play our second consecutive year at Doe Bay Festival.

Doe Bay was A FUCKING BLAST! We played 2nd to last on the main stage Friday night; Joe Brotherton (owner of the resort and co-creator of the festival) himself got up on stage and introduced us to the crowd. Champagne Champagne closed out the main stage, and we ended up jumping back up with them to perform a collaboration for the closing number... Couldn't have been any more fun. I've known Mark Gajadhar (DJ/Drummer/Multi-instrumentalist) since we were both in junior high (a lot of people don't realize that he was the juggernaut drummer in the legendary post punk post hardcore super outfit - The Blood Brothers). So that main stage close out song ended up being me on guitar, Brantley on keyboard, Jacob on Viola, Matt on his drum set-up, Mark on a full kit, and Pearl & Thomas MCing. IF ANYONE KNOWS ABOUT THERE BEING VIDEOTAPE OF THIS PLEASE LET US KNOW!!!

In addition to our set and collaboration with Champagne, Ravenna ended up performing AGAIN before the sun rose on Saturday. Several young festival goers managed to round up our rag tag (and perhaps minorly inebriated) team of musicians and convince us to grab a few instruments for an impromptu beach show. There was an AWESOME margarita bar set up there called "The Two Bar." A crowd gathered, and we managed to tear through a cluster of familiar songs by moon and lantern light. SO. MUCH. FUN. Anyways... the rest of the weekend was spent running around, hanging out with old friends, making new ones, laughing too much, and PROPOSING TO GIRLFRIENDS. Yes, that's right ladies - our handsome and well mannered drummer, Matt Badger, is now officially off of the market for good. He popped the question on a sea cliff with an amazing view over the bay as Brantley and I serenaded them with the lucky lady's favorite Elliot Smith song... The weekend couldn't have gone better.

Moving right along, we've got several awesome dates closing in on us. This Friday (8/26) we are playing our second KEXP in-studio, this time with the world renowned Cheryl Waters! It'll be broadcast live at 12pm, so make sure you honor our agreement that we came to that one night (remember?!) by "dialing in," as they say in the "biz." "Biz" is short for business in the "biz." It's an honor and privilege to be playing live on air on KEXP again and we hope to share it with your hungry ears!

LATER THAT VERY SAME DAY we are performing at the Mural Ampitheater with Drew Grow and the Pastor's Wives, Pickwick and Shane Tutmarc. We are sooooooooooooooo excited to play this show. Come say hi if you make it out.

Last but not least, we are being featured on "The Song Show" presented by City Arts on Monday, August 29th at the Rendez-vous. We will be interviewed live by Mark Baumgarten and performing songs in between.

-Love,
Chris, Brantley and Matt.

Hello everyone - Welcome to our new website.

So, here's the thing. We've recently come to the conclusion that...well, we like you (yes, you) and enjoy your company quite a lot. You buy our music, watch our videos, follow us online, come to our shows, monitor our ph levels, and just generally make us feel pretty loved. The main purpose behind revamping this website is to give us a steadier online platform to connect with you - our listeners (yes, we realize how cheesy that sounds but it's true, dammit). Here's a couple examples of 'content' that will be updated and made available regularly to those of you who choose to frequent our online establishment...

Ravenna Woods B-Sides. Once a month or so a new Ravenna b-side will be made available for FREE download on this website. The b-sides will consist of demos created previous to the final lineup of Ravenna, songs that I (Chris) wrote and recorded in the Marshall Islands, and more solidified tracks that didn't make final cut on either of our two current releases...

Band rants! Matt and I each got to write one entry for our KEXP tour blog down to SXSW last march, and we loved it. We got the taste of blood in our mouths and now the hunger is driving us MAD! So this'll be sort of a more uncensored, weekly recounting of funny/weird events that occur to us as a band and individually...

Lets get to know eachother better through this crazy internet machine, shall we? Time to get weird.

-Love,
Chris, Brantley and Matt.
